Slow-Speed
Maneuvering DVD - $30.00
Slow
speed maneuvering is designed to help give the rider a basic understanding of
controlling the motorcycle at low speeds. It teaches the rider how to lean and
balance the motorcycle properly as well as give safety tips for riding. The
cone courses are demonstrated by Bill on three different types of motorcycles:
a police bike, a street (cruiser) bike and a touring bike. Besides filming Bill
maneuver through the courses, Bill wears a helmet cam to demonstrate what the
rider should be looking at as they go through the courses
themselves.
Future videos offered on this website will be a step-by-step
progression, building on this first video, as your motor skills
develop.

We
suggest you also purchase our Parking Lot Pals along with the Be A Better Biker
DVD. These stackable cones are 8" wide and 2" high and come in a multi-colored
pack of 50 with their own carrier. They are lightweight and easily
transportable on your motorcycle to your practice area. Since they are
virtually flat, they pose minimal risk to the rider and motorcycle should they
be run over during practice.
Common Questions 1. Can these cone courses be done with
any type of motorcycle? These courses are designed to be practiced on a
street legal motorcycle. Bill demonstrates the courses on a police bike, a
street (cruiser) bike and a touring bike.
2. What motorcycle skill
level is necessary to accomplish the maneuvers in this video? This video
is designed for the licensed motorcyclist only. It is not intended for someone
just learning how to ride a motorcycle. If you are new to motorcycling, enroll
in a motorcycle safety course first before using this DVD. Once you are
proficient enough to pass your license exam, you should be ready to start
practicing the maneuvers in this video.
3. Where should the cone
courses be set up for practice? Most will need to be done in a paved,
parking lot type environment, however, depending on your unique situation, some
of the simple courses (like the cone weave) might be able to be done safely in
your driveway. Again, please use common sense. Set up where there is no chance
of traffic or other hazards to be encountered. Make sure you have enough room
to set up, come in and go out of the course safely. Obtain permission from the
property owner/manager to be there. Be responsible and have your motorcycle
insurance/health insurance coverage to cover any injuries or damages to you or
your bike. Take all necessary safety precautions.
4. Can practice at
slow speeds damage my motorcycle? If you follow instructions as given on
the video, you should be okay. You will need to "air out" the clutch at regular
intervals and take breaks yourself as necessary. |
